This episode was written somewhere between cobblestone streets and quiet realizations.Between missed turns, long walks, train windows, and moments where time slowed down just enough to let the truth catch up.
Italy didn’t ask me to change. It asked me to pay attention.
Episode 100 lives in that awareness.
---------------------
This is Episode 100.No flex. No fireworks.Just heart, breath, and truth.
This one isn’t about talking over tracks. It’s about letting the music carry the weight—like a soul finally exhaling.
This episode is a love letter. To myself. To you.To anyone learning how to stay standing when life tries to fold them.

🎶 Episode 97: “Fusion at the Edge: Turkey’s Sonic Mosaic”Where continents hum, and music is the bridge.
🌀 Ride the Bosphorus with us.
I’m Kenny Chiba — your cosmic bus driver and sonic guide — and in this episode we plunge deep into Turkey’s soundscape. Here, East and West don’t just touch — they collide, converse, shake hands, and remix. The Bosphorus isn’t just geography — it’s pulse, it’s groove, it’s the tubular vein where melodies flow between worlds. On this journey, tradition coexists with jazz fusion, rock chops echo in ancient alleys, and rap/hip-hop voices carry modern rebellion on old winds.
✨ In Episode 97 of the Overlooked Tracks PodcastWe let Anatolian psych, jazz fusion, and boundary-breaking hybrids rise — from Anatolian soil, through crowded bazaars, out into the cinematic sky.

Shortly after the release of episode #53, I encountered illness, pain, and heartache, creating a rather unfavorable experience. During this time, I gained clarity about the individuals I could truly rely on; those who stood by me during this temporary setback and those who merely made empty assurances. Upon learning of the recent passing of the renowned Brazilian singer Astrud Gilberto, I felt an undeniable urge to make a pilgrimage to Brazil, a place that holds a profound significance in my musical journey. Astrud's enchanting melodies introduced me to the mesmerizing world of Brazilian Jazz and jazz in general, leaving an indelible mark on my soul.
Her ethereal sounds served as a guiding light during a time when I was lost and seeking solace. Music became my sanctuary, slowly and surely helping me heal, and Astrud Gilberto played an integral role in that transformative process. And so, without delay, I embark on a musical journey through the heart of Brazil, dedicated to honoring the profound impact Astrud has had on my life through her magnificent music.

Argentina is known for its outstanding and oh so beautiful landscapes, the welcoming atmosphere of the people of Argentina, their foods and wine (especially their meats and wine and you can get fat and drunk very quickly because is it oh so good, and you just can’t stop. Argentina is also known for its gorgeous dance of tango and most importantly, without the fine music being played in this country, there is no tango. It’s sort of a package deal.
