Sometimes, the quiet does not end.  It transforms.
In Episode 104, we slowed everything down. We took a breath, stepped away from the noise and allowed the music to bring us back toward ourselves.
But somewhere beyond that stillness, the sky began to change.
A low rumble appeared in the distance. The clouds gathered. Amplifiers warmed up. Guitar
strings started to vibrate—and the magical music bus pulled back onto the road.
This is Episode 105 of the Overlooked Tracks Podcast, and for this episode we are following the Signals Beneath the Noise.
These are independent artists creating progressive, alternative, psychedelic and cinematic rock—musicians still building their roads, finding their listeners and pushing their music beyond familiar borders.
We begin gently, but do not get too comfortable.
There is rolling thunder ahead.
You are listening to the Overlooked Tracks Podcast—music you’ve been overlooking.

🎶 Episode 97: “Fusion at the Edge: Turkey’s Sonic Mosaic”Where continents hum, and music is the bridge.
🌀 Ride the Bosphorus with us.
I’m Kenny Chiba — your cosmic bus driver and sonic guide — and in this episode we plunge deep into Turkey’s soundscape. Here, East and West don’t just touch — they collide, converse, shake hands, and remix. The Bosphorus isn’t just geography — it’s pulse, it’s groove, it’s the tubular vein where melodies flow between worlds. On this journey, tradition coexists with jazz fusion, rock chops echo in ancient alleys, and rap/hip-hop voices carry modern rebellion on old winds.
✨ In Episode 97 of the Overlooked Tracks PodcastWe let Anatolian psych, jazz fusion, and boundary-breaking hybrids rise — from Anatolian soil, through crowded bazaars, out into the cinematic sky.

There’s a sound rising from the foot of the Andes… not one sound, actually—but many.
In the shadows of Chile’s history, in the glow of its digital future, a vibrant chorus is coming alive. It doesn’t play by genre rules. It doesn’t chase algorithm gold. It breathes in protest, poetry, and passion. And for this episode, The Overlooked Tracks Podcast is tuning straight into it.
This is Episode 95, and we’re riding the magical music bus right into the heart of Chile—where independent artists are flipping tradition on its head and remixing cultural roots into something fierce, strange, and deeply human.
Each track on this episode is a postcard. Each lyric a landmark. Each beat a brushstroke of Chile’s ever-shifting, soul-filled soundscape.
Because music? It’s not just what we hear—it’s where we go.

Welcome to Episode 89 of the Overlooked Tracks Podcast—hosted by me, Kenny Chiba. 🎸🔥
This time, we’re turning the dial all the way up and diving into the thunderous world of rock music—from the underground legends of the past to the genre-benders shaping its future. This episode is for the headbangers, the riff chasers, and anyone who knows that a good guitar solo can speak louder than words.
We’re talking indie rock with bite, heavy metal that hits like a freight train, and the intricate brilliance of Japanese math rock that’ll leave going bananas. But we’re not just about what’s new—we’re also paying homage to overlooked rock from history that still hits  just as hard today. These are the tracks that time tried to forget, but couldn’t silence.
Whether it’s a fuzz-drenched riff from a ‘70s deep cut or a genre-pushing banger from a present-day band on the rise, this episode is proof that rock—real, gut-punching, soul-shaking rock—is timeless.
So lace up your boots, plug in your air guitar, and get ready to feel the feedback. This is Episode 89 of  Overlooked Tracks, where the past and present collide in glorious volume. My name is Kenny Chiba and again this is the Overlooked Tracks Podcast. 🤘🎶💥

What's up, everyone? This is Kenny Chiba, and welcome to episode #83 of the Overlooked Tracks Podcast. Today, I’ve got some Alternative and Indie Pop lined up for you. Normally, I'd be heading off to a new destination around the world to bring you music from different regions, but life had other plans—I ended up catching COVID and was down for about a week and a half. It all started while I was in Tokyo, where I found an amazing record shop in the Harajuku district. If you want to check out what I picked up, just head over to my Instagram, @overlookedtracks.
I was super pumped about the vinyl I scored, but once I got home—COUGH, COUGH—I started feeling awful and spent the next few days in bed, like a sick dog. Still not 100%, but I'm well enough to bring you some killer tracks today, ones you might have overlooked, and to shine a light on some incredible artists out there making waves in the music universe.

Experience the resurgence of rock and roll, often denoted as rock & roll, rock 'n' roll, or rock n roll, a captivating music genre that surfaced in the United States during the late 1940s and early 1950s. Its inception can be attributed to a blend of African-American musical influences, encompassing jazz, rhythm and blues, boogie-woogie, gospel, jump blues, and elements of country music.
Join us once again as we immerse ourselves in the powerful sounds of rock music, played through the year 2023. This genre has undergone significant evolution, transcending mere musical expression with its dynamic songs. These compositions serve as more than just a collection of notes; they offer a source of vitality, provoke contemplation, and even facilitate moments of meditation.
Surprisingly, rock music has the potential to foster a sense of belonging and redirect one's focus toward a more positive trajectory. This transformation requires the practice of mindful engagement. Begin this journey with the upcoming tracks you are about to experience. I'm Kenny Chiba, and you're about to embark on a rock-filled journey with masters of their craft on the Overlooked Tracks Podcast.

After departing from the laid-back Chill Laundry Lounge and succumbing to a state of relaxation, one of the homies told me about a singer from Sweden and when I heard that track, the decision was made to polish up and fine tune the Magical Music Bus for our next adventure to Sweden – the Scandinavian gem nestled in Northern Europe with a population exceeding 10 million. Renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, vibrant culture, and eclectic music scene, Sweden has given the world iconic artists such as ABBA, Roxette, Ace of Base and The Cardigans, leaving an indelible mark on various genres from folk and jazz to pop and rock.
The thriving indie music scene, in particular, will take center stage in the this 61st episode of the Overlooked Tracks Podcast, offering a showcase of Sweden's distinct musical tapestry that promises to captivate your ears and soul.

I was having a conversation with someone and the subject was Japanese animation or simply “anime” and I was learning more about anime from the conversation than I could ever thought of.  I’m a casual fan of the art form and interested in learning more about the fascination and popularity of anime.  Damn, I have a lot to learn because there is SO MUCH to see.  I did however discover the connection between Japanese anime and music – how appropriate because of course this is the Overlooked Tracks podcast - a music podcast.
Come to find out there’s music to be listened and a music genre folks need to pay attention to, especially if they’re big fans of anime and even if you’re not a big fan, the Anison music genre may be a good start for you to learn more about the music and anime. Maybe you can call it “Killing two birds with one stone”.
